Introduction
Sunset in Chitwan N. Park. Photo Sherap Sherpa This itinerary is an excellent general introduction to Nepal for those that have not visited this unique Himalayan country and do not want to spend all their time trekking through the high mountains. It includes a few days in the Kathmandu valley with time to see the various points of interest and an awesome Himalayan sunrise and sunset at Nagarkot. We then visit Bandipur, a small village set in the picturesque middle hills with stunning views of the Annapurnas and Manaslu Himal, where we have a day walk. Next, we visit Pokhara where there is a chance to walk in the foothills of Annapurna and then two days game watching and relaxing in the Chitwan National Park. We have chosen our activities and locations carefully to maximize the interest and diversity of the trip. Trip profile The Nepal Discoverer is a busy trip that combines spectacular drives, easy optional day walks, sightseeing, a visit to the jungle and an optional days rafting. We use a private minibus for transport and whilst most of the roads are in fairly good condition there may be a few rougher sections. The optional day walks are at quite low altitudes and on well-established trails. The visit to the jungle is a mixture of jeep drives, easy walking and elephant safaris. |
